Professional design advice is likely not as expensive as you’d imagined. In fact, good advice should save you money and help you to avoid costly mistakes. Investigating options on paper and determining exactly the right approach is far less expensive than trial and error on the construction site.

You can expect full transparency about projected fees and expenses. A preliminary fee proposal will outline what we will do and how much we will charge. For more detail on general fee charges, please contact us and we can send you our Introductory Fees Package.

We tailor the way we charge for our work to suit the specifics of individual projects. Rather than billing a flat percentage fee for all work, we typically send out detailed monthly invoices which carefully itemize the hours spent on each aspect of your project. We help you track your fees throughout the life of the project and work to ensure that there are no surprises when it comes to our fees and services.

Obviously, as the size and complexity of the building increases, so does the cost and so (usually) will the total fees. We can “ballpark” the total fees even before we know too much about the detail of your project, because you are also probably trying to get a sense of what form the building may take. But we prefer to make more precise fee projections only after gaining a clear understanding of what you want and what will work best in each situation. Every job has its own idiosyncrasies.

Good design comes with a cost, but it can prove to be one of the best investments you make in your project. Experience and practicality go hand in hand, and time spent exploring options on paper will always be time well spent in the long run. Previous clients of ours will attest to this.

So, how much does it cost for us to design your building, or assist you in other ways? After we have met to discuss your project in depth, we will map out an estimate of the fees, beginning to end.

• We work to create an environment of collaboration and efficient service, ending ultimately with a well-designed, well-crafted building that you will enjoy for many years to come.
